GlampOUT ~ 11th Birthday

glamcamp-133

What’s more glorious than celebrating an 11th Birthday?  Having a GlampOUT!  What is a “GlampOut” you ask?

Camping… yes! Roughing It? Not Quite.

Camping in December… yes, please. When your birthday is in the midst of winter what better way to create an indoor slumber party when it’s just too cold to camp out doors.  To get the ultimate glamping experience we set-up a pretty tent in a cozy space for the perfect foundation for any glampsite.

Living beyond breast cancer is about how we find treatment. It’s about transforming the experience of diagnosis into one of finding support, expertise, community… and learning from those who have faced cancer themselves and soared beyond it. Why we support – to honor and remember my mom who battled 10 1/2 years of breast cancer. We support because years ago my great-grandmother died because there were no adequate treatments for breast cancer because my maternal-grandmother battled breast cancer twice. So my daughters don’t have to live in a world with breast cancer. So that the 1 in 8 women who are diagnosed with breast cancer have a lifetime. We support because it MATTERS!

Hope to see you ALL there!

Mariah & Family

Please Know Your Your Breast Health…

The key to survival is early detection.
The greatest risk factors for breast cancer are being female and growing older.  Breast cancer knows no boundary, be it age, gender, socio-economic status or geographic location.  We must continue to keep breast cancer top of mind because it affects so many!
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s one in eight within your company, school and organization.  Now is the time to take action, to secure a long, healthy future for our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends!
Three simple steps for early detection are regular mammograms, clinical exams and breast self- exams.  It is important to make healthy lifestyle choices.

And, remember, breast cancer affects more than just the patient; friends and family need support too.

Check out our donation page, every dollar helps. http://pugetsound.info-komen.org/site/TR?pg=fund&fr_id=1680&pxfid=235964

Lemon & Lime Sweet Treat Birthday Celebration

I love the color yellow, it’s so light, bright and cheery that just the thought of it puts a smile on my face.

The inspiration for our shoot came from all the freshness and vibrancy of the summer season. We wanted to create a beautifully refreshing landscape that can be translated into a childrens birthday party, baby shower, wedding, bridal shower or engagement party.

We worked with a bright color palette of yellows, bright green and mint green. The vibrant hues really helped to set the tone of the party and capture the crisp & zestful nature of a perfect summer  day.  To complete the outdoor feel, unique mason jars were used as drinking glasses with each jar numbered for an easy find.  We included fun backyard childrens games to create a vintage feel.  The beautiful and sweet cake pops and ombre cake were created by Jenny Cookies. Party rentals, props and decorations were created & styled by Mariah Rainier Style and photography by Heather Lynn Photographie.

Delight in Summer and enjoy a refreshing glass of ice cold lemonade or limeade!

If the Crown Fit’s …

Heather Lynn Photographie

The crown certainly “fits” for the outstanding members of the Assistance League of Everett’s, Kitty Young Auxiliary.  This last April and many prior years before I have had the honor and great pleasure of working with so many woman who dedicate their time and talents to making their “April Affair Tea” and fashion show a great success with all proceed going to Assistance League of Everett’s Operation School Bell.  Each table at the tea is decorated with the members theme of choice - this year I went with “If the Crown Fit’s” it seemed fitting considering all the time and hard work that goes into making this tea a huge success!

I have been a member of the Assistance League of Everett since the age of 12. My mother was an active member since the early 80′s and encouraged we to volunteer at a young age.  Volunteering has been a passion of mine.  I encourage anyone who has the desire to give back to their community to find a non-profit group in their community to join. Here is what the Assistance League is all about. You just might want to check us out!

Assistance League of Everett is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3), Federal Tax I.D. No. 91-6069747, organization dedicated to helping those in need within our community, Snohomish County, Washington.

We are one of more than 120 local chapters and guilds within a national network, National Assistance League.  Through our commitment to hands-on action, nationwide Assistance League volunteers touched the lives of over 1.4 million children, seniors, families and others in need this past year. Combined, we returned an astounding $35 million to communities across the United States.

Our chapter was founded in 1965 and currently has more than 300 members.  Dedicated volunteers donated over 43,700 volunteer hours  this past year. An all-volunteer, nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsecular organization.  Comprised of more than 300 member volunteers plus numerous community volunteers. In addition to the main chapter membership there are two auxiliary organizations, Kitty Young Auxiliary and Assisteens® Auxiliary.

We manage several Community Outreach Programs that are focused on lending a helping hand to those in need.  Our largest program, Operation School Bell, gives children a complete new wardrobe of school clothing.  Other programs provide financial aid to graduating high school seniors, scholarships to Everett Community College students, clothing and hygiene kits for assault victims, teddy bears for children and adults who are victims of assault or domestic violence, clothing to adults re-entering the workplace and more.

We rely 100% on volunteers with no paid staff.  You are welcome to join us, as there are countless volunteer opportunities   in which your talents, skills and interests can be served while giving back in our local community.

If you are interested in joining or donating you can find us at: assistanceleagueofeverett.org/ and check us out on Facebook: Assistance League of Everett, Kitty Young Auxiliary
